About the Presentation Cities often compete for the attention of large corporate brands to settle in their communities. With the recent explosion of Artificial Intelligence (AI) changing work and life, cities want to be known as technology leaders. Project Management should not only enable the business with innovation but also just as importantly managing risk for the business. In this session, we will explore Project Management’s role to understand potential and realized risks of accommodations to secure and implement “Big Tech” initiatives in communities with respect to energy, water, and waste systems. Attendees will be exposed to the use of risk management frameworks to identify and mitigate these risks and drive sustainable outcomes as well as the situational applicability of ethics in the profession. Learning Objectives: · Understand the environmental risks posed by Artificial Intelligence (AI). · Understand how to use risk management frameworks for AI. · Apply situational judgment in response to ethical concerns in AI implementations About Joy Toney Joy Toney serves as a Senior Program Consultant for AIM for Change, LLC. Joy’s career successes are mapped over 20+ years professional experience, in non-profit, consumer services, government contracting, and transportation. She’s a CISSP, CCSP, SHRM-CP, Prince2 Agile Expert, Prosci Certified Change Practitioner and PMI Organizational Transformation Foundation (OTF), Orchestration (OTO), Implementation (OTI) credential holder, and certified Google AI Leader. Joy holds a MBA with a concentration in Management Information Systems from the University of Memphis as well as a Masters in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance from Western Governor’s University. Joy has over 10 years of active volunteer experience with PMI. She currently serves on the PMI Global Insight Team for Culture and Diversity. She previously served as a chapter board member for PMI Memphis in various roles including VP of Programs and VP of Operations. |
