“Practical Application of AI for Project Managers

Speaker: Tammo Wilkins MBA, P.E., PMP, CSM

September 8, 2026

Presentation Description

Description of Topic/Presentation:

“Practical Application of AI for Project Managers”

AI is becoming ever more present in our lives and people are being made aware of it more and more.  And yet, there is considerable skepticism and even fear of AI.  This presentation is a light hearted view into how AI has entered my life and how it can help manage projects.  The presentation is an interactive experience of practical AI application.

3-5 Learning Objectives:

  1. Recognize practical ways AI can support project managers throughout the project lifecycle without replacing professional judgment.
  2. Apply AI to common project management tasks such as planning, risk analysis, stakeholder communication, reporting, and decision support.
  3. Use effective prompting techniques to collaborate with AI as a thinking partner rather than simply an answer generator.
  4. Evaluate the benefits and limitations of AI and identify when human experience, ethics, and judgment remain essential.
  5. Identify immediate opportunities to use AI to improve productivity and effectiveness on their own projects.
