Description of Topic/Presentation: Nathan Allen-Zimmerer, PMP®, LSSBB, will share his insights on leadership in the medical device industry. Leadership inspires growth and unlocks potential. It can empower us or challenge us, pushing us to discover new aspects of ourselves and our abilities. Leadership sparks change, drives innovation, and enables us to overcome obstacles that once seemed insurmountable. As industries and societal needs evolve, so does leadership, with new opportunities for influence constantly emerging. Great leaders create space for others to grow and take ownership, often leading by example in ways that inspire others to follow. This event is dedicated to empowering today’s workforce through volunteering, mentoring, and leadership development programs aimed at cultivating the next generation of leaders. With a focus on fostering diverse leadership, the event seeks to break down barriers and promote inclusivity within teams. In this talk, Nathan Allen-Zimmerer will share his experiences in project management, mentoring, and volunteering—helping emerging leaders refine their skills. He will also highlight projects where diverse leaders took charge of initiatives, delivering impactful results across various sectors. Through this session, you’ll learn valuable lessons from leadership-driven, real-world examples. You’ll hear how leaders inspired and coordinated teams despite limited resources, balanced competing time commitments, and how leadership emerged organically within different team segments. The session will also explore areas for improvement in addressing challenges and highlight why formal leadership skills, communication strategies, and project management frameworks are essential for effectively managing large, diverse teams. Nathan Allen-Zimmerer, PMP®, LSSBB Nathan is a project manager at Broadata Communications Inc., working hands-on with the research, development, and manufacturing of leading video and audio equipment for the medical industry. Previously, he was a project manager at Totex Manufacturing Inc. for just under five years, where he worked on custom smart batteries and advanced chargers for the medical industry. Before that, he spent over four years as an Electrical Engineer and then later as an Electrical Design Engineer at ERP Power LLC., in Moorpark, California, developing innovative programmable LED power supplies and light engines that earned numerous patents and an industry award. He’s also an active volunteer within the community.
