The Honest PM: How a Culture of Trust Creates Positive Business Outcomes

Speaker: Jason Pardes, PMP, POPM, SSM

September 10, 2024

Presentation Description

Description of Topic/Presentation:

Honesty isn’t always easy. We all dread the thought of sharing bad news, yet we all benefit when even a difficult message is shared in the right way, and at the right time – and organizational leaders rely on project managers to communicate fearlessly, proactively and unambiguously.

This session will focus on defining an honest approach to project management and how this approach can drive positive impact across an organization. We will dive into situational examples where project managers are confronted with decisions where we can analyze the outcomes of choosing an honest approach compared to an opaque management style. Participants will leave this session with principles that can guide project management and communications decisions across any industry or type of project.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Reinforce the value of honest communications
  2. Understand Project Management’s role in promoting a culture of honest communications
  3. Learn tactics for delivering difficult news to a customer (or manager)
  4. Share principles to guide situational communications decisions
