2023 November 14th Dinner Meeting - 1.5 PDUs - Virtual
Human Factors in Design: An Engineer's Approach to Problem Solving
Speaker: Leslie Wickman, PhD, Research Scientist & Engineering Consultant
November 14, 2023
Presentation Description |
Description of Topic/Presentation: At its core, the field of Human Factors (or Ergonomics) focuses on human beings and their interaction with products, equipment, facilities, procedures, and environments. This is similar to Project Managers in their daily work of stakeholder management, process and protocol oversight, and problem-solving with deadlines, resources, and collaborators. Human Factors must design for the human/system interface, accounting for both mental and physical capabilities as well as limitations. Can you relate to this challenge in your everyday work? Join us for an evening discussion on Human Factors in Design and the practical application of improved problem-solving, creative critical thinking, and strategies to more effectively overcome limitations in your work with people and systems.
