Presentation Title:

Future of Project Management in a Post-Covid World from a Legal/Compliance Perspective

Presentation Topics:

  • Gain insights to mitigate legal/compliance risk black swan after black swan event (force majeure, supply chain, privacy, remote teams, etc.)
  • Gain insights re: your evolving role and relevant internal and external factors, including advances in technology and expanding rights for non-attorney professionals (e.g., changes to the State Bar of CA)

Bio:

Virginia Suveiu

Virginia A. Suveiu, Esq., counsels on legal risk management, regulatory compliance and public policy, as well as commercial and international law matters. She is a subject matter expert and developed the Legal Risk Management Specialized Studies Certificate Program for UCI Extension, where she also teaches for that program as well as for the Contract Management Certificate Program. She has published articles on a variety of business law matters, most recently for the National Contract Management Association’s Contract Management Magazine May 2015 issue, as well as for the National Center for State Courts and the Aerospace and Defense Forum, among others.

She also has worked internationally, having focused time in Europe, in particular on the emerging economies of Central and Eastern Europe. She worked at the US Embassy in Bucharest, Romania, where she researched and drafted reports for senior officials, including the annual Human Rights Report and worked at the international law firm of Salans (now Dentons) under the Corporate M&A/Private Equity practice group. She is affiliated with, and has presented to, several professional organizations and institutions, including the World Trade Center-San Diego, Project Management Institute (both in Los Angeles and Orange County), OCRIMS, CPCU, Orange County Paralegal Association, Chapman University’s eVillage, Irvine Valley College, the Orange County Chapter of NCMA, and the Native American Procurement Forum.

She is an active member of the State Bar of California and is admitted to the U.S. District Court, Central District of California. She earned her B.A. cum laude from Whittier College as a John Greenleaf Whittier Scholar, and her J.D. from the University of Richmond, T.C. Williams School of Law, Dean’s List recognition, first in Constitutional Law.
