About the Presentation

This presentation will address how communication is a valued skill for a Project Manager. In order for us to be good communicators, we must understand our audience. This includes their communication style, preferences, motives, in order to help us best communicate with them and achieve a symbiotic relationship. When you understand your audience, you can communicate and interact in a way that will help you gain business advantages and manage your teams and project smoothly. I also plan to incorporate examples from my own work place with potentially a client/boss, my direct reports, and spending to key players in the energy market I associate with.

The golden rule is to treat others how you would like to be treated, but in this day and age there is a platinum rule. The platinum rule is that you should treat others how they want to be treated. As Project Managers, we have to adapt our communication style and demeanor to achieve what we set out to accomplish. .
