Description of Topic/Presentation: At this event, we all will discuss the book under selection, “Healthy Calling: From Toxic Burnout to Sustainable Work” by Arianna Molloy. Through reading this book, we will learn how to manage the stress in our lives to avoid and/or transition from burnout to working on our calling at our best in a sustainable fashion in order to promote our most effective selves. Communication and workplace expert Arianna Molloy explores the nature of a calling, what makes it healthy and how it provides motivation, and elaborates on how humility acts as a key to unlock a more sustainable approach to work. Speaker Bio |
Arianna Molloy Arianna is an Associate Professor of Organizational Communication at Biola University, where she also partners with Biola’s Office of Faculty Advancement to lead the Pedagogy Development Consulting program. She approaches teaching as a mentor who loves to learn and has been honored with awards like Biola’s Provost Award for “Excellence in Teaching” and the “Faculty Excellence” award. Her greatest joy, however, is witnessing transformation in her students' lives. Her research focuses on meaningful work, work as a calling, and the link between humility and burnout. She is an award-winning scholar, with publications in premier journals such as the International Journal of Business Communication, Communication Studies, and the Journal of Management, Spirituality, and Religion, where one of her collaborations was named “Article of the Year.” In addition to academic work, Arianna consults with organizations such as In-N-Out, Providence Mission Hospital, and the Project Management Institute. Her consulting focuses on presentation coaching, team collaboration, and sustainable work practices. |

PDU Accrual |
This book's length is 192 pages, with an expected reading time of six (6) hours. You may personally report a maximum of six (6) PDUs to PMI for completed reading of this book. The Book Club asks that you please completely read the book prior to attending the virtual event. Additionally, your attendance to the virtual meeting will result in one (1) PDU which will be reported to PMI on your behalf, via a PMI-OC volunteer, 2-3 days after the event. Completed reading of the book and event attendance may result in a maximum of eight (7) PDUs total. If you register for this event, but do not attend, you may still report PDUs for reading the book but may not report or receive additional PDUs for event engagement. |

Cancellation Policy
Reservations must be canceled no later than 10 pm PST two days prior to the event in order to receive a refund.
