Presentation Description |
Description of Topic/Presentation: 1. Agile Practices for All Projects – by Steve Blais Agile methods are becoming increasingly prevalent, and have facilitated projects in reducing time to market, being adaptive to changing customer requirements, and increasing value to customers and organizations. These benefits have been implemented in both IT and non-IT environments to help all types of projects. This webinar will present ways to leverage some Agile software development techniques and processes that can be readily incorporated into your projects to enable greater flexibility and higher productivity, while maintaining the traditional project lifecycle framework. The overall goal of the webinar is for you to be able to integrate appropriate Agile elements and/or techniques into any project in any environment.
2. The Art of Feedback - by Roy Brewer “I would like to give you some feedback.” These are the words that will put the most calm and collected people on edge. As one of the most difficult and crucial conversations that any manager needs to have, feedback is a signature leadership trait that distinguishes the good from the excellent. This webinar will provide you with a quick overview of some of the key elements in providing genuine feedback.
3. Hybrid Project Management - by Cyndi Snyder Dionisio Hybrid project management is here to stay. It is no longer sustainable to be an expert in waterfall methodologies, without some skills in Agile, or vice versa. To deliver value in this fast-paced business environment, we need to merge these two ways of working. Both waterfall and Agile methods rely on process. With waterfall you might have detailed scope definition, robust schedules, and rigorous change control processes. With Agile you might focus on three stand-up questions, iteration planning, demonstrations, and productive retrospectives. Process is great, but we have to move beyond following a process without questioning if it is the most effective way to deliver value. That’s the beauty of hybrid project management. Hybrid project management is about delivering value – not simply following a process.
