UNLEASHING CREATIVITY: Shifting our Mindset as Project Managers

Speaker:  Sabrina Adewumi, Business and Interior Design Consultant

October 21, 2023

Presentation Description

Description of Topic/Presentation:

Creativity is one of the most in-demand soft skills sought by employers and one of the most important leadership qualities for navigating increasingly complex business challenges. Creativity has been shown to benefit business by supporting innovation, increasing productivity and growth. While Project Managers are frequently viewed as problem solvers, they are not always perceived – nor do they always perceive themselves - as being creative.

But the good news is, every project manager has the ability to be creative! This interactive session is designed to reset the perception of what it means to be a “Creative Project Manager” and identify common barriers to creativity, traditional project management mindsets that have the potential to hinder creativity, and explore some ways we can leverage technology in order to enhance creativity.

Through a combination of presentation, group discussion and hands-on creative exercises, participants will learn how to:

  • Understand the importance of creativity in project management
  • Stimulate and nurture a culture of creativity in their project teams
  • Sustain the integration of creativity in project management practice
