UNLEASHING CREATIVITY: Shifting our Mindset as Project Managers

Description of Topic/Presentation: Creativity is one of the most in-demand soft skills sought by employers and one of the most important leadership qualities for navigating increasingly complex business challenges. Creativity has been shown to benefit business by supporting innovation, increasing productivity and growth. While Project Managers are frequently viewed as problem solvers, they are not always perceived – nor do they always perceive themselves - as being creative. But the good news is, every project manager has the ability to be creative! This interactive session is designed to reset the perception of what it means to be a “Creative Project Manager” and identify common barriers to creativity, traditional project management mindsets that have the potential to hinder creativity, and explore some ways we can leverage technology in order to enhance creativity. Through a combination of presentation, group discussion and hands-on creative exercises, participants will learn how to:

Speaker Bio(s) |
Sabrina E. Adewumi, PMP, Business and Interior Design Consultant Sabrina is a multifaceted professional with 20+ years’ combined experience in project management, business consulting and interior design. She has worked with clients in the private and public sectors to deliver technology implementations, workplace renovation/relocation, website development, eGovernment and organizational change management initiatives. Through SADE Studio, a boutique strategy and design consultancy, her work has focused on creative project management along with extensive volunteer service in design, social media, publishing, event support and multimedia production. She is a trained artist, a former competitive swimmer, an avid baker, a published children’s author and a lover of travel and adventure. She has been PMP® certified and a member of PMI since 2006, and currently volunteers with the PMI Orange County Chapter in Southern California, where she resides with her husband and three children.. |

For walk-in registrations, we accept credit cards (no cash). Cancellation Policy
Reservations must be canceled no later than 10 pm PST two days prior to the event in order to receive a refund. All cancellations (including duplicate registrations) are subject to a 10% Administrative Fee. To cancel, send an email to registration_cancel@pmi-oc.org and include your name and the event.
