Presentation Description

Change Management is an essential skill for everyone working as part of a team and certainly for all project managers. Yet it is a skill that often goes under developed. This presentation addresses the change management skills and leading cultural change at the organizational level. The presentation defines change management, discusses the bridge model, change levers to address resistance, when to employ change management, and concludes with a personal story leading organizational cultural change.

Learning objectives of the presentation include:
1. Understanding culture and its affect on the business performance.
2. Define Change Management and when to employ it.
3. How to identify resistance to change and ideas to successfully navigate resistance to change.

Speaker Bio(s)

Derek Barraza, PMP, Senior Vice President, Allegro Solutions, Inc.  

Derek Barraza is a Project Management Professional (PMP) with more than 30 years of experience delivering information technology solutions. He has performed various roles including Business Development, Account Executive, Customer Relationship Manager, Project Manager, Business Systems Analyst, Quality Assurance Manager, and Software Developer. Derek has consulted to numerous industries including automotive, aerospace, healthcare, insurance, finance, sales, and high tech. Derek’s experience includes several years in leadership roles at the local, regional, and national levels. He has served as a director and officer on several corporate boards and helped transform organizations.

Derek enjoys photography, soccer, reading, and community service. Derek and Cindy, his wife of 41 years, raised three sons and have one grandson.

Reservations must be canceled no later than 10 pm PST two days prior to the event in order to receive a refund.
