“Honing the Soft Stuff: How to Build What Today’s Top Program & Project Managers Believe to Be the People Skills Necessary for Success”

As a Project or Program Manager, “hard skills” like knowing how to create a project budget, critical path diagram, or work breakdown structures are considered necessary ‘table stakes’ for success in the role.  Yet, what about the soft stuff, considered for some to be the hard stuff?  What people skills are also needed for achievement in the role?  And are you self-aware enough to know your strengths in the soft areas, or what you need to do to build them?

Find out what top PM leaders regard as the 5 to 6 soft skills that are also considered must haves for fine-tuning a career in Project or Program Management.  Also, learn the ‘how’ for building these necessary soft-skills by first understanding a set of 8 personality-defined Motivations or Aspects that drive certain behavioral strengths, and then assessing yourself against these at a high-level.  Determine where you might need to tune-up or tone-down in order to build a mastery of relevant interpersonal skills.  Connect what you already have to what the experts say you need!

-Dr. Bill Brantley, Career Strategist

Your Program and Project Management Career in the Next Decade”
