2021 July Breaking Through the Glass Ceiling, PMI OC & SV
July 15th (Thursday) - PMI Orange County & Silicon Valley Joint Webinar
Breaking Through the Glass Ceiling
Description of Webinar
Have you missed a promotion due to what has been acknowledged as "the glass ceiling"? While this phenomena has been brought to light in the '70s, invisible barriers and bias continue to exist preventing qualified individuals (women and minorities alike) from advancing upward in their organizations regardless of their achievements.
"In a world where talent is distributed equally among women and men, an economy that does not fully tap into the leadership skills offered ... is necessarily inefficient," says Chicago Booth Professor Marianne Bertrand. "Talent is left on the table when (individuals) are not placed in leadership positions, and the economy suffers."
Join us as PMI-OC has women from the Silicon Valley and Orange County chapters discuss how they have overcome inequalities to advance in their careers. They will recount their professional journeys in the corporate world and, more specifically, in the project management arena.
