Presentation Title:

What must a PM know about AI, IoT, and Blockchain?

Goals (By the end of the presentation, the attendees will be able to):

Apply PMBOK Guidance to managing three new technologies that are disrupting businesses from financial institutions to supply chain systems to transportation, healthcare, and food safety.

Presentation Topics:

  • What must a PM know about AI, IoT, and Blockchain?
  • Can PM processes from PMBOK be automated?
  • What are strategies for managing AI, IoT, and Blockchain per PMBOK?

Practice Exercises:

  • Students experience the “Blockchain Taxi”, AI Cybersecurity, and other interactive demos of AI, IoT, and Blockchain.
  • Students divide into teams and strategize about organizing a new project using AI, IoT, or Blockchain. The new project can be a technical project such as developing a new AI, IoT, or Blockchain or a non-technical project using these emerging technologies as support.
  • Teams present their strategy for further brainstorming by peers.

Bio

S. D. Nelson

S. D. Nelson is a PMP® and technologist. Clients dubbed him "Nelson, the Global Geek" because of successful projects in Asia, Europe, Africa, Australia, South America, and the USA.

As a PMP®, he is studying how to apply PMBOK guidance to emerging technology such as AI, IoT, Blockchain, and cybersecurity.

In 2016 he lived in Changzhou China and taught at Jiangsu University of Technology. From 2009-2015 he won SCIEX "best team" awards and received customer endorsements for cyber-security of networks, software, and equipment in pharmaceutical laboratories world-wide. Prior to that, he supported research into contingency planning for drones hacked in flight. He contributed to security for the NASA Curiosity Mars Rover. Microsoft and Bellagio also trusted him to safeguard web apps and databases.

He earned a Master of Science in Information Security and has taught in corporations and as a guest lecturer or professor at universities abroad and in the USA.

Cancellation Policy

Reservations must be cancelled no later than 10 pm PST three days prior to the event in order to receive a refund.
