Speaker Bios:
David Canfield
David is the Vice President and CIO of the Pacific Battleship Center – Battleship USS IOWA. He was responsible for the project to move and locate the Battleship USS IOWA at San Pedro harbor.
The Pacific Battleship Center is the caretaker of the USS IOWA and is creating an interactive experience that honors and illustrates the positive contributions of this battleship and her crew at critical moments in American history. Our education programs offer lessons in history, leadership, team-building, character development and community service.
The USS Iowa, sometimes called "Battleship of Presidents," was on the move for much of its existence, serving in World War II in addition to the Korean War (as well as the Cold War as well). It's now at home in San Pedro
Through the dedication and hard work of her new crew, USS IOWA is once again coming to life and embarking on her new mission to educate, to inspire a love of history and to stand as a living monument to the services of the United States Armed Forces
