• Understanding Alternative Dispute Resolution options ranging from facilitative mediation to binding arbitration, with insight into which options best deliver on cost savings, time savings, and enforcement.
• Learning Pro Tips for every stage of the process, ranging from ADR clauses to pre-ADR preparation and negotiation techniques.

Practice Exercises:

• A mock mediation exercise with role play in groups with debrief.

Bio

Lydia Gala Liberio, Esq., LL.M., MBA

As an attorney, mediator, LL.M. in ADR, MBA, and PMP, Lydia brings over 20 years of experience advising companies on risk management (Pfizer, MCA/Universal Studios, & JM Eagle) & non-profit groups (PMI-OC Admin. Operations Director 2015-2017 & 2014 Compliance Chair; IALA 2017 President, and APAWLA Board) regarding trade group, non-profit and corporate governance and risk management about evaluating, reducing, managing and mitigating issues arising out of contracts preparation, negotiation, enforcement, conflicts resolution and program risk management view. Although she has volunteered over 120 litigation bench days as a judge pro tem for Los Angeles Superior Court, she also draws upon mediation and arbitration experience including employment, insurance construction defect/earthquake class actions, securities fraud, probate and family law/dependency court mediations.

As a law and business/PM professor, she teaches law, business and project management students as a professor, and recently served as a 2016 SME reviewer contributor to PMI's 2017 first Standard for Organizational Project Management and contributor to PMI’s to PMI’s Standard for Program Management – Fourth Edition expected out in 2017. She shares insights gained while proactively assisting corporate and non-profit trade groups, reflecting extensive state bar chapter leading training and the National Conference of Bar Presidents 21st Century Trade Group training about the challenges of handling challenges when contract breaches and emergencies trigger mediation, arbitration and litigation.

PMI-OC Members $45 pre-registered, $60 by check or cash at the door
Non-Members $50 pre-registered, $60 by check or cash at the door

For walk-in registrations, cash or check are accepted.

Cancellation Policy

Reservations must be cancelled no later than 10 pm PST three days prior to the event in order to receive a refund. All cancellations (including duplicate registrations) are subject to a 10% Administrative fee. To cancel, send an email to registration_cancel@pmi-oc.org and include your name and event.
