PMI-OC Academic Outreach Team Connects with Chapman MBAs
On Monday, August 3, 2026, members of the PMI Orange County Academic Outreach team visited Chapman University's Argyros College of Business and Economics to speak with MBA students in a project management course taught by Dr. Pradip "P.K." Shukla.
Fenia Fedotovskikh, Flavia Rodrigues, and Roderick Conwi represented PMI-OC for the session, walking students through the fundamentals of the Project Management Institute (PMI) and its Orange County chapter, PMI-OC. The presentation covered what PMI and PMI-OC are, the value of joining a professional career community, current trends shaping the project management field, and practical career advice for students preparing to enter the workforce.
Beyond the basics, the team spotlighted specific ways PMI-OC supports its members as they grow their careers, including the chapter's mentorship program, which pairs experienced practitioners with those looking to build their skills and networks. They also gave students a preview of PMI-OC's upcoming Professional Development Day, taking place virtually on Saturday, August 22, 2026, one of the chapter's flagship events of the year.
The visit is part of PMI-OC's broader Academic Outreach efforts, which regularly bring chapter volunteers into local university classrooms to introduce students to the profession, PMI's certifications and resources, and the benefits of getting involved with a chapter early.
